Today was the day
Well, today was the big performance day. I think I ended up on stage, entertaining a crowd of more than two hundred people for about forty minutes or so. I was unsure how things would go but they loved it. For the record, I did 11 songs, one of which I sat at the piano and played for. I did a Louie Armstrong imitation of Wonderful World, I used Kermit the Frog and sang Rainbow Connection in his voice. I sang a verson of I Left My Heart (in Ashtabula....all new words courtesy of me.)I made them laugh, cry, and sing. I just wish I were a bit more talented!
We had a video camera with us, and somehow the decision was made by my family to let my son be the videographer. He taped the entire thing, (i only wanted my part taped. The flute choir, while good, was boring!) So, when I started, he got the first two lines of my first song, and the tape ran out. He had to change the tape and missed most of that song. Then, instead of letting it continue to roll, he stopped it at the end of each song and started it at the beginning of the next song. This didn't work so well! So, the tape is jumpy, out of focus at times, and even when in focus, the focus is my midsection, or the walls, or the ladies head that sat in front of my family! I guess you can say i was a bit disappointed in the quality.
This coming week I will be doing four more gatherings, so maybe I will be able to duplicate in part what I did today. I have purchase a digital video camera and hopefully that will make transferring easier.
When I get some photos from people, I will share.

I hope when you're playing the arena in Nashville, you'll at least get me good seats.....for free......and maybe backstage passes....and a limo ride to the arena....
